What we doThe focus of our work is participation. Clients contact us because they want to get something done involving people. This focus means we have highly developed skills in meeting design and facilitation large and small. All the projects we work on involve us in many meetings. We are known internationally for our work using large group interventions and our ability to facilitate real work with groups as large as 2000 people. For us 50 people is a small group. We use proven processes such as Future Search and Open Space. However what differentiates us is our investment in in-depth learning about all the approaches to this work and our ability to integrate a variety of methods. We recognise that each client situation is different and work to design and deliver a unique pathway that best addresses and supports the organisation. Our projects with clients fall into 4 main types of work
Large Group Interventions, Facilitation and Design Large Group Interventions enable you to bring together large numbers of the organisation or community and key stakeholders to rapidly work important and pressing issues. These interventions are 'real work', not dry ice, entertainment or games. At any one time organisations have a vast number of strategies they are acting on, for example, HR, Communications, Organisation Design or Redesign, and obviously the overall strategic direction of the organisation. It is often difficult to imagine using large numbers of people from organisations or communities to develop these strategies but we have many examples over the years of innovative ways of doing this. Leadership and Team Development Within systems, people in leadership roles are responsible on a scale and with a degree of complexity that gives them immense capacity to influence change. They need support and on-going advice. We work with leadership teams to facilitate mutual understanding and alignment and build vision and strategies. Meeting Facilitation and Design Meetings seem to be the scurge of modern working yet they can be purposeful and engaging. We believe that good meetings are key to successful organisations, that they are times when people learn and move forward - they are not about simply telling and instructing people. |
